This hands-on, differentiated resource is designed to help students explore and understand the difference between volume and capacity, all measured in millilitres. Aligned with the Australian Curriculum, this practical investigation encourages students to estimate and accurately measure using water and a measuring jug. The activity comes with two versions: an easier sheet focusing on estimating and measuring volume and capacity, and a more challenging extension version that requires students to calculate the difference between their estimates and actual measurements. It’s a perfect way to build measurement skills, develop mathematical reasoning, and reinforce metric units through real-world experience.
