This activity is based around the Chapter 56 of Noughts and Crosses. The extract is from the moment where Callum is arrested.

This lesson allows KS3 students to consider the themes, language and structure of the novel Noughts and Crosses. The extract is approached on a step by step basis, making the resource suitable for KS3 students beginning GCSE style studies or weaker KS4 students who find Language Paper 1 texts challenging.

This lesson can be used as part of wider teaching of the novel at KS3, as an introduction to the genre of Dystopian texts, or as a simplified Language Paper 1 Practice text for weaker KS4 students

This lesson includes a writing task based around the theme of living in a Dystopian world
