AI End-of-Year Project - Free Resource for Language Teachers (KS3/KS4)
.
This is a creative end-of-year project designed for MFL teachers who want to bring together language learning, student creativity, and digital literacy. It’s a resource I have used successfully with Year 9 and Year 10 French and Spanish students, and I am sharing it here for free in case it’s useful to others.
.
What it is:
A flexible project brief where students consolidate their learning by producing a final piece of work based on a topic covered in class (e.g. family, school life, local area, free time, etc.). The twist? They use free AI tools to enhance their work (e.g. text-to-speech, AI-generated visuals, music, subtitles), without using AI to generate the language content.
.
Language focus:
Students are expected to:
- Recycle vocabulary and grammar from taught topics
- Use at least three tenses
- Include opinions, reasons, connectors, and one idiom
- Reference cultural elements if possible
.
Creative output options:
Students can choose to create a:
Podcast, vlog, comic, song, blog post, short story, video, or poster
They work independently or in pairs
.
Included in the resource: - Project overview and clear task instructions
- AI tool suggestions (all free to use)
- Submission checklist
- Student reflection task
- Assessment grid (40 marks: language, creativity, use of AI, effort)
- Links to exemplar student work (in French and Spanish)
.
This resource allows for personalisation, independent learning, and cross-curricular links (ICT, Art, Media), and can be adapted to suit your class’s needs. Great for keeping students motivated at the end of term, while reinforcing language structures and encouraging digital creativity.

If you try it out, I would love to know how it goes – please consider leaving a short review so other teachers can see how it worked in your classroom too
Something went wrong, please try again later.
