This is an ESL English lesson, tailored to the new Pearson Edexcel (2023) ESL GCSE examination series. The lesson focuses on the third unit: Employment.
Students begin the lesson by looking at the prerequisites for certain jobs. They discuss these in their groups and evaluate which are most/ least important. The teacher then spins the random name generator and students talk for 30 seconds about a skill for the job they’re given. Most tasks are differentiated to accommodate those with a basic level of English, to the more proficient speakers.
Students get the chance to practice speaking skills in this lesson.
