This is an examiner created resource designed to enhance student readiness for the Edexcel International GCSE English Literature Paper 1 - poetry anthology component. It can be delivered in one lesson ahead of the exam, or, the tasks can be extended over a series of lessons. The activities are based on three poems - ‘Blessing’, ‘War Photographer’ and ‘Half Past Two’ - but could easily be adapted for the other poems. This super learning resource will enable students to:
- Become more familiar with the components of the paper
- Explore alternative perspectives to the ideas presented ion the poems
- Understand the different skills and strategies to use for literary essay writing
- Feel more adept at planning and writing an effective essay
