Disabled Wilfred Owen lesson that is part of the new Eduqas poetry anthology for 2025 onwards. We explore the key themes and messages of the poem, analysing how the speaker describes the life of a disabled soldier before and after the fighting resulted in the loss of the use of his legs.

Students explore and make notes on the use of different perspectives and times within the poem and how the use of the past, present and future helps the writer and speaker to convey their messages and the key themes of the piece.

We also make comparisons between the tone of this poem and one other we have previously studied in the term.

Look out for our new Eduqas 2025 poetry resources as they are developed.
