Two lessons on Cobalt in the DRC. These lessons have been created for Year 7, studying a topic ‘Africa is NOT a country’.
To start, students are given a map that shows the wealth of natural resources on the African continent and complete a 15 minute Data Response activity (there is also a LAPS version).
Students watch the video clip and then read the Word Document - Cobalt, this has been adapted from an article in The Economist in 2022. They then complete the Cobalt Worksheet.
In the second lesson, students complete the Comprehension Questions and then the Oracy Circles talking activity.
