This is a unit of English for Year5/6 based around the brilliant story ‘Children of the Benin Kingdom’ written by Dinah Orji. It makes a greast stand alone English unit or along with a study of the ancient kingdom of Benin in history (I have also uploaded planning for this).
There are many varied and interesting activities including: discussion and deduction about initial map and prologue, creative writing from Ada’s point of view, guided reading activities, picture work linked to guilds and more.
