This resource pack links to The Guardian’s ‘Buried: how we choose to remember the transatlantic slave trade’ documentary which follows the construction of an airport on the island of Saint Helena. Whilst preparing for the airport and through roads, a mass grave was discovered of former enslaved Africans who passed away there on the Middle Passage of the transatlantic slave trade.

The resources includes an Essential Question and guided questions for viewing, a Web Quest for Saint Helena, a worksheet on stakeholders in the documentary, and a worksheet for ideas on how people could be custodians of a collective history, together with a PowerPoint presentation.
