Binary Board resource that I regularly use with my computing classes to support students in converting binary numbers to denary. The resource is a simple, effective visual aid displaying the place values for an 8-bit binary number. I laminate the boards and use them as mini whiteboards during lessons, allowing students to physically write in the 1s and 0s before calculating the denary value. This interactive approach helps students visualise the place values, reinforces their understanding of binary conversion, and encourages active participation in lessons. It’s particularly useful for kinaesthetic and visual learners, and I’ve found it to be an engaging way to introduce or consolidate binary concepts in both Key Stage 3 and 4 classes.
