The Oxford Centre for Personalised Medicine Art Competition aims to engage young people in Years 7-9 with the opportunities and challenges of personalised medicine. We hope it would be an enjoyable stretch and challenge activity for KS3 students interested in art or human biology, and may be of particular note for students thinking about studying art or medicine at university.
The resource is a flyer for sharing details of the competition with pupils. It includes a link to the competition website, which has all the details of this year’s topic (the meaning of ‘personalised medicine’), eligibility criteria, and how to apply, together with a video that may be useful in introducing the competition to a class, and downloadable information to support teachers using the competition as a class activity.
Students can enter as individuals or as a team- so it would be a good activity for an art lesson or club during Autumn 2025. Every entrant will get a certificate via email, and there are cash prizes for winners and finalists. The best entries will be shared by the Centre for Personalised Medicine online and at future events. For example, winning entries from previous years have been exhibited at the John Radcliffe and Churchill hospitals, St Anne’s College, and the Centre for Human Genetics in Oxford.
The competition will be open to new entries from 1st September 2025 until 30th January 2026.
