Objectives:
To learn about different animals and their sounds.
To develop speaking and listening skills.
To improve early reading and word matching.
Included:
40 colour animal flashcards spread across 10 pages (4 per page).
Each card shows an animal and the sound it makes e.g., A Sheep – Baa and a Horse – Neigh
A final page includes a grid with all 40 animals in colour and their names.
Uses:
• Flashcard Games – Show the cards and ask children to name the animals, read and make the sounds.
• Matching Activities – Match animals to their sounds and names using the grid.
• Picture Match– Duplicate the flashcards for matching games. Match pictures on the flashcards with those on the grid.
• Early Reading Skills – Use phonics knowledge to locate names of animals, read words and make animal sounds.
The flashcards make useful visual aids and can be used for display purposes.
