Have fun going back to school at the start of the new term or school year with this printable All About Me Booklet. Engage your class in a fun and creative welcoming activity, so they can share interesting facts about themselves through writing and art, regardless of age or ability.

This is a great ice breaker on the first day of school or during ‘Meet the new teacher’ transition days and caters for all types of students, especially those who are less verbal and prefer communicating in other ways. Children have a chance to:

Share a picture of themselves through a self portrait or a photograph
Write and draw about important people in their lives, such as parents, carers, family members and friends.
Share their aspirations for when they are older, so you can support with early career ideas and develop an awareness with them of the importance of education to help them achieve their dreams.
Showcase their likes and dislikes, giving them the opportunity to choose what they prefer, whether this is food and drink, hobbies, school, holidays…. They could create their own collage like the one in the example to get all of their ideas across, or simply choose 1 or 2 to share.

The finished booklet is then attached with the use of a split pin, so pages slide open to read each layer. These would look fabulous on your class working wall to begin to build relationships and allow all children to feel part of the class family. It also means members of the school community and parents would be able to access them too and enjoy the creativity their child has chosen to share.

There are four printable templates in the download, each one created to the size needed to form a layered booklet. Each layer has a written prompt/title that learners can color but it will also support them in adding the relevant information to that section.
