  • Review how to tell time on the hour, the quarter hour, on the half hour, or to the minute with your students. (Use the visual aid on the next page.)
  • Watch these videos: Qué hora es? Telling Time on the Hour in Spanish for Kids! / Canción ¿Qué hora es? (Telling Time Song) / ¿Qué hora es? (Smile & Learn)
  • You will need a “teaching clock” like what you see to the right.
  • Print, cut out, and laminate time flashcards based on where your students are in the learning process. (Print with optional flashcard cover, front-to-back.)
  • Have students come up one at a time and pick a card. They will then attempt to move the hands of the clock to the correct time as written in Spanish.
  • For a more competitive team game, break up your class into small groups and give them points each time they set the time on the clock correctly. The team with the most points at the end, wins!
  • Reinforce learning with a worksheet or the “make a clock” activity (included).
