This engaging ‘or’ phonics sound resource pack is designed to support EYFS and KS1 learners in recognising, reading, and writing words containing the ‘or’ digraph, part of Phase 3 phonics. Perfect for whole-class teaching, group work, or targeted interventions, this pack offers a variety of activities to develop phonics confidence and fluency.

The pack includes a 9-page interactive PowerPoint that introduces the ‘or’ digraph through visual prompts, blending practice, missing letter activities, and sentence building. The PowerPoint is ideal for modelling during whole-class or small group sessions and encourages children to spot and read ‘or’ words with growing independence.

Also included is a 3-page activity workbook, ideal for follow-up independent work or homework tasks. Activities include word-picture matching, fill-in-the-blank spelling, and sentence writing using key vocabulary.

A separate set of matching flashcards can be used for games, quick-fire recall, sorting, or phonics displays.

To complete the pack, there’s an original phoneme spotter story titled “Storm at the Fort”, written especially to include multiple ‘or’ sound words in context. Children can read, highlight or hunt for ‘or’ words, supporting both decoding and comprehension skills.

Updated in June 2025, this resource now includes improved visuals and a print-friendly version of all materials.
