This is a complete lesson covering sections 5.2.1 a and c of the OCR Chemistry Specification- lattice enthalpy. The lesson opens by covering the various energy changes that students are required to understand and use through their course- using various students led examples to help illustrate the points. It then goes on to discuss lattice enthalpy and the factors that affect it.
The lesson includes a starter, full notes, various student led activities and a differentiated summary at the end.
All answers are included.
I actively try to reduce photocopying, so most of the lesson resources are within the PowerPoint rather than as extra sheets.
This is a complete lesson covering sections 5.2.1 c, g and h of the OCR Biology specification- chemiosmosis and glycolysis. It starts by encouraging students to retrieve what they remember about ATP before looking at chemiosmosis and ATP synthesis finishing with summary questions. The lesson then moves onto an introduction to respiration and the process of glycolysis. This again includes various summary activities.

A complete lesson covering section 4.2.1 a of the OCR A level chemistry specification- properties of alcohols. It covers a reminder of the IUPAC nomenclature, the difference between primary, secondary and tertiary alcohols, the trends in the main physical properties and the explanation of those trends.
This is a free sample showing the quality and styling of the rest of my lessons. Please see my shop for more A level Biology and Chemistry resources.
The lesson includes a revision starter, full notes, lots of independent student activities and a differentiated summary at the end
All answers provided
A leveled resourced suitable for all abilities aimed at supporting GCSE students with revision for the topic Acids and Bases.
It includes a brief introduction with background information then a series of tasks to cover all the learning points from both the single Chemistry and combined science GCSE courses.
Includes links to websites to support learning
Revision lesson where students complete one of a series of recall activities then a long answer exam question linked to that recall activity.
Answers included in the PowerPoint
Covers heart structure, leaf structure and the structure of villi and alveoli
Revision activity of three of the topics in C1- mixtures, the periodic table and atomic structure.
Each section has a number of slides going over the content followed by an exam questions with mark scheme. Exam questions are two standard demand and a higher demand.
An assembly designed for late Key Stage 2 and early Key Stage 3, though easily adaptable for other age groups.
This assembly presents The Parable of the Long Spoons—a thought-provoking story that powerfully illustrates how the difference between heaven and hell lies not in our surroundings, but in how we treat one another. At its heart is a timeless message about kindness, cooperation, and the value of supporting others.
To bring this message vividly to life, the assembly features a memorable, hands-on demonstration:
Students are challenged to eat from a shared plate of food using utensils fixed to the end of 1-meter rulers. While feeding themselves proves impossible, they soon discover that they can feed each other—mirroring the lesson of the parable through action and shared experience.
The assembly is enriched with impactful images designed to spark reflection and inspire thoughtful discussion among students long after it ends.
A lesson encouraging students to think about what is meant by courage and why everyday people act with courage.
It presents examples of people who are trained to act with courage then some examples of everyday people who need to show courage.
Closes with some questions to get students to think about the motivations of the people and the consequences of their actions
A sheet detailing all the calculations from C3 of the AQA Chemistry course
Each one comes with a worked example showing how to complete the calculations
useful summary for revision or at the end or beginning of the topic
A revision Powerpoint covering the remaining calculations from AQA C3- gas calculations, atom economy and percentage yield.
It includes a starter drawing on previous revision lessons, worked examples and opportunities for student practice with answers.
This is the third in a a set of 3 Powerpoints covering the content of AQA C3. It is designed to be used, with the other Powerpoints, along side another of my resources the CS summary sheet.
A Powerpoint with accompanying resources regarding animal adaptations to hot and cold environments with long answer exam question as a plenary.
Includes a suggestion for a practical as well as a sheet to identify physiological, structural and behavioral adaptations of penguins
Includes a video file from you tube.
The assembly starts by explaining what looking forward means in terms of focusing on the future and being open to change.
It then looks at new beginnings and offers some examples (e.g. new school year)
The assembly then looks at the challenges involved in a new beginning and how they can be overcome.
There are then three examples of people who have faced and overcome a new beginning- Serena Williams, Maya Angelou and Benjamin Pritchard
The assembly closes with some final thoughts about the inevitability of change and how to grab it
The final slide is a quote from Doc Brown from Back to the Future regarding how the future isn’t written yet
An assembly on the background, discoveries and legacy of four British scientists- one each from the 17th to the 20th Century. Includes lots of images. It discusses that much of the science we still hold to today is built upon the discoveries that each made.
The assembly closes by pointing out some of the discoveries that have been made since the year 2000. It also points out that we don’t know yet who will be the most significant scientists of the 21st century- it could be one of the audience.
This is a good way of raising British values and the impact of Britain on the culture of the world.
It is suitable to advertise British science week but can be used at any time.
