This is a complete lesson covering sections 5.1.5 a-e of the OCR Biology specification- plant responses to abiotic stress. It starts by considering the need for plants to be able to respond to stress. It then looks at leaf loss and responding to daylight length. The lesson then moves onto abscission and avoiding freezing. The lesson closes by looking at stomatal control and how this coordinated. The lesson includes a starter, full notes, various student led activities and a differentiated summary at the end. All answers are included. I actively try to reduce photocopying, so all of the lesson resources are within the PowerPoint rather than as extra sheets.

It then introduces cells and discusses the difference between primary and secondary cells along with associated calculations.
