A journal with 8 writing prompts for students to record their feelings about returning to school, and how they view the new school year. In a colourful format designed to appeal to young children and to encourage them to pour their hearts out. Writing is an important part of expression and students will benefit from this activity and also have a nice record to remember how they began this school year.

Students often struggle to understand how to structure their answer to this question, and how to construct the justifications for their choice through use of the mark scheme and the Insert sources. This table acts as a guide, sharing points to help write each paragraph. I have used a question from one of the Cambridge past papers.

This resource contains links to articles and reports on Syria’s notorious prison. There are four activities outlined that can be conducted with students. The activities aim to cover learning about the Prison, and also there are some activities to build skills through the exploration of this topic.

This resource contains a timeline of key events from 2000 to 2024, with an additional more detailed timeline of the events that took place from November 27th that led to the downfall of Bashaar. Also, there are resources related to maps and articles that can be used to complete two activities. One is a map activity, the other is to create a profile of Bashaar Al Asaad with some analysis of the opinions of his supporters and opponents. The resources can be used to create more activities. The activities are focused on developing understanding and skills.

A lesson plan with resources to help explore the issue of Gun Violence while developing key skills required by the IGCSE Global Perspectives assessment objectives 2025-2027 Syllabus. This includes how to identify a global issue, developing reasoning skills, and identifying different cultural perspectives. Gun control is related to the IGCSE topic of Law and Criminality, however the lesson plan can be used by anyone looking to explore Gun Violence in America.

The powerpoint consists of 31 slides giving a clear explanation of each question from the Written Paper with reference to the mark scheme. The presentation can be used by teachers in class. to take the students through the written paper. There are also some hints from my experience as a GP teacher, to help guide the students in the best approach to answering the questions. Teachers can download from the internet, and use the 2025 syllabus Specimen Paper, and the March Exam 2025 as past paper examples to go along with the presentation.
