These lessons and accompanying workbook celebrate the Women’s Euros in Switzerland and discuss the film Das Wunder von Bern, which, as the name suggests, concludes in the Swiss capital. As both the world cup in the film and this year’s competition take place in Switzerland, it seemed the ideal opportunity to look at both. In addition to giving lots of opportunities to discuss aspects of the film, there are activities on the countries participating, revision of colours in a colour by number, a chance to find out more about Switzerland, and a look at the prospects of the German team. The lessons also look at the mascot, giving an opportunity to look at adjectives and qualities and to find out more about the inspiration for the mascot, Madeleine Boll.
