A 4/5 week English scheme of work (12-15 lessons) where students will explore and analyse the narratives, themes and issues contained within video games.

Students will explore:

  • The history of video games and their narratives
  • The importance of agency within the video game medium
  • Debates around gaming such as concerns around violence
  • Diversity and equality within gaming
  • Thematic analyses e.g. corruption, technology, gender
    Includes an extended project where students get to choose a specific area of interest and produce something creative/analytical
