The Prospector and the Corpse synopsis:
MacNeal invites his prospecting friend Chris in from his latest goldrush. After dinner, Chris shows MacNeal a prehistoric knife that he found next to an ape man who was frozen in ice. Chris brings the ice man inside to thaw, and in its grasp is a knife. As the fireplace thaws the ice, Chris sees the ice man begin to twitch and open its eyes. MacNeal doesn’t believe it and tells Chris that he had cabin fever. Is the ape man alive? Find out in The Prospector and the Corpse readers’ theatre unit!

Mr. Marvel’s Musings:
MacNeal begins the story by writing in his journal. Once Chris enters, MacNeal begins speaking with him. In the second half of the story, Chris recounts what happened once he brings the ice man into his cabin, and MacNeal reacts. Chris has lots of dialogue.

I hope you, and your students enjoy reading The Prospector and the Corpse and continue to do so for many years.
Excelsior!
