The Laundry Basket synopsis:
The Buhler’s rent a room to a mysterious man from the east coast named Herman. He refuses to let anyone clean his room, and insists on cleaning it himself. He also places his dirty laundry outside the door and picks up the clean laundry. The other tenants know very little about him since he hardly receives any mail and he does not speak to anyone. One day, Mrs. Buhler visits a psychic who makes claims that there has been a death in her building. Is the psychic right? Find out in The Laundry Basket readers’ theatre unit!
Mr. Marvel’s Musings:
I included the book report questions since there is a lot to examine in this story. Who is Herman? Why is he so mysterious? I have had good discussions with my students about the aloof Herman. Was he hiding something or was he just a shy guy?
I hope you, and your students enjoy reading The Laundry Basket and continue to do so for many years.
Excelsior!
