This CPD session will provide primary school staff with the tools to identify early warning signs, understand the emotional drivers behind eating difficulties, and offer compassionate, age-appropriate support.

Children as young as five can be influenced by body image pressures, and early intervention is key to promoting healthy attitudes towards food and self-esteem so it is critical to upskill your staff.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand what eating disorders are and their impact on children’s mental and physical health
  • Recognise the early signs of disordered eating and body image concerns in primary-aged pupils
  • Develop strategies to provide supportive, non-judgemental interventions in school
  • Learn how to engage parents and carers in positive conversations about food and wellbeing
  • Know when and how to escalate concerns and signpost to specialist support services
