Children practise subitising and number bonds, understand the 5-day school week, and develop a sense of time. “If today is Tuesday, we’ve had 2 yellow counters and there are 3 red ones left, we know this because 2 and 3 makes 5.” A brilliant way to embed maths into the children’s everyday routine!

You can also, laminate it and each month write the date on each box. Stick a picture of a child’s birthday or an important event like Christmas, children can independently count how many days are left for it.
