A lesson taught to Y8 comparing the environmental quality of different parts of Manchester.
- Students create definitions of scores for environmental quality - turning qualitative data into quantitative data.
- Students show images of CBD, inner city, inner suburbs and outer suburbs by teacher. Google Map links are also included so the teacher can show Google Street View of the area. If students have access to computers they could do this themselves.
- Students plot results on radar graphs.
- Students compare locations based on their results.
- students explain their results based upon theory from previous lessons on settlement.
