The resource covers the practical demonstration of the alkali metals lithium, sodium and potassium with air and water including the apparatus required , methodology and health and safety considerations required for this classic demonstration in Chemistry.
I have essentially provided a workbook for the students that include questions covering the demonstration itself and others designed to enable students to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of the trends in physical and chemical properties of the alkali metals.
There are also extension questions included to allow for the range of abilities in IGCSE /GCSE groups.
The students can write their answers directly into the booklet.
I have also provided the solutions to all the questions set in the booklet.
Although the resource is designed for IGCSE /GCSE Chemistry , it could also be used in Key Stage 3 Chemistry courses including Cambridge Checkpoint Science where the chemistry of the alkali metals is covered.
