Decomposition Zulfikar Ghose lesson that is part of the new Eduqas poetry anthology for 2025 onwards. We explore the key themes and messages of the poem, analysing how the speaker describes a homeless man in Mumbai (Bombay) before convey his messages about his photo and his guilt at having taken it for the wrong reasons.

Students explore and make notes on the use of imagery within the poem and how the use of these images helps the writer and speaker to convey their messages and the key themes of the piece.

We also explore the use of free verse and the structure of the poem.

Look out for our new Eduqas 2025 poetry resources as they are developed.
