Lesson 1: Atoms and elements. Introduces the word atoms and discusses the origin of the word. Introduces the knowledge of what atoms are and the subatomic particles. Introduces elements and shows with diagrams the differences between atoms of different elements. Discusses the origin of names and symbols of elements. Opportunity for students to research the origin of names of some elements. Assessment sheet and mark scheme provided
Lesson 2: The periodic table. Introduces the periodic table, its key features and how to read it. Students are introduced on how to find information from the periodic table. Lesson has a quiz on periodic table with mark scheme.

Lesson 3: Molecules and compound. Students are introduced to molecules of elements and compounds. students learn to interpret the formula of molecules. Contain worksheet with mark scheme.
Lesson 4: Reactions and reacting masses. This lesson introduces students to the concept of chemical reaction, word, symbol and picture equation. It emphasizes the law of conservation of atoms and mass. It comes with plenty of practice activities and mark schemes
Lesson 5: Assess: 40 multiple choice questions with answers.
