This printable resource includes 4 worksheets featuring animals such as frogs, grasshoppers, butterflies, and rabbits.
On each line, children see three of the same animal (e.g. frog + frog + frog = ) and use the animal value grid to work out the answer.
The first worksheet is fully completed as an example to guide learners.
The remaining 4 sheets allow children to practise independently, writing their answers in the boxes after the equals sign.
How it works:

  1. Teachers fill in the value grid with numbers (e.g. Frog = 2, Rabbit = 5).
  2. Children use the grid to calculate each sum.
  3. Each line focuses on a single repeated animal to encourage confidence with simple addition.
    Perfect for:
    • Independent maths practice
    • SEND maths support
    • KS1 number fluency
    • Number area or table activities
    Tip:
Laminate the worksheets and use with white board pens for a reusable, low-prep maths station activity.*
