A lesson which enables secondary students to investigate the modern epidemic of loneliness, it's link to increased use of social media, how loneliness affects our health and what we can do to combat it.
Created to help cover 2024 DfE and PSHE Association guidelines for: Identify and articulate a range of emotions accurately and sensitively, using appropriate vocabulary.
Describe the characteristics of mental and emotional health and strategies for managing these.
Describe a broad range of strategies — cognitive and practical — for promoting emotional wellbeing, for avoiding negative thinking and for ways of managing mental health concerns.

Revision Success: A selection of highly-rated lessons and tools to help students succeed in exams, revise effectively, be prepared, well-organised and confident. These resources focus on the best way to revise, the different revision styles - what has been proven to work vs what doesn't, managing your time, building up your confidence and memory to succeed in exams and setting yourself personal goals and smart targets for revision, exam success and more. Each one lasts an hour and could be used in three 20 min tutor time sessions a week for a Study Skills focus.
It also focuses on how you can use the power of the mind to achieve success through self discipline and having a 'can-do' growth mindset. There is also a lesson on stress management and developing self discipline for any situation, including sticking to revision timetables!

Four lessons covering study and revision skills and exam stress management:
Revision Skills - Two-hour lesson, jam-packed with information the best ways to revise (as well as how and why) and the most common revision pitfalls, and why these don’t work. Students will complete tasks where they try out the very best methods, critique their current revision strategies, and put new plans into action which integrate all of the new and improved ideas. A revision timetable is included, where students can not only plan their time - but also add in HOW they intend to use the best revision methods they have learned about, during that time (plenary task).
Exam stress management - A brand new 2024 lesson all about how we can decrease stress levels and improve our exam performance. It focuses on what students should be doing and what they should avoid doing and why on the lead up to exams, with many easy and practical ideas that any student can implement.
Study Skills - memory and recall focus: Fully resourced PSHE lesson on revision, study skills and memory. It covers useful techniques and ideas for any subject and lasts an hour. It includes clips with differentiated questions, worksheets, case studyand literacy focus tasks to complete. This is the fifth of 12 sessions which will cover all aspects of employability skills, as well as serve as a step-by-step guide for schools and students that are signed up to the LikeToBe website.
This fifth session is all about technological / computer literacy - exploring why it’s important for us to keep our skills up to date and be life-long learners. It investigates how technology has impacted on our social and work lives over the past few decades and why almost every job today will want students to be proficient in using the most common software packages.
All of these resources are three way differentiated, engaging and challenging. They are best suited to KS4 or KS5 students and each lasts 40 minutes.

Brand new PSHE lesson all about how video platform algorithms (such as YouTube and Tiktok) can lead us to viewing extreme ideas without us ever intending to. The lesson investigates what algorithms are, what algorithm complacency is, how we are allowing platforms to shape our views and interests and what this may mean for wider society. how to recognise online grooming in different forms, e.g. in relation to sexual or financial exploitation, extremism and radicalisation
how to respond and seek support in cases of online grooming
how to recognise biased or misleading information online
how to critically assess different media sources
how to distinguish between content which is publicly and privately shared
about age restrictions when accessing different forms of media and how to make responsible decisions
how to protect financial security online
how to assess and manage risks in relation to gambling and chance-based transactions
All lessons are editable, differentiated at least three ways so you can be Ofsted and DfE guidance-ready and ensure your pupils have the very best PSHE education. Each pack contains a variety of activities, an hour-long PowerPoint, a clip with questions, a literacy focus task, new key-term introductions, reading aloud materials, assessment opportunities, progress checkers and creative tasks.
