What is Pentecost? – KS3 Catholic RE Lesson

This fully resourced and engaging lesson introduces Year 7 students to the meaning and importance of Pentecost. Linked to the Catholic KS3 Religious Education Directory (RED) and supported by the Source & Summit Year 7 textbook, this lesson helps pupils explore what happened at Pentecost and why it matters for Catholics today.

Designed for learners with a reading age of 10, the lesson includes simplified scripture from Acts 2, visual aids, key vocabulary with pupil-friendly definitions, and differentiated comprehension activities. Pupils are guided to understand how the Holy Spirit helped the apostles, fulfilled Jesus’ promise, and began the Church’s mission to share the Good News.

An ideal resource for RE teachers delivering Catholic theology at KS3 who want to make Pentecost clear, exciting, and accessible for all learners.
