This KS1 English language resource supports children’s understanding and use of WH question words, including what, when, where, who, why, and which.
It is especially useful for pupils learning English as an additional language (EAL), helping them build confidence with question structures and spoken communication.
The pack includes a set of four activity sheets where children fill in the missing WH word at the start of each sentence.
These worksheets develop phonics, writing, sentence structure, reading comprehension, and early grammar skills.
Also included are six sheets of WH word cards, each featuring six cut-out question cards that begin with the same WH word—for example, one sheet focuses on “what” with questions like -What is your favourite food? and What do you like to draw?
These cards can be used for sorting, matching, conversation practice, or games, making the resource flexible for classroom use.
Ideal for whole-class activities, small groups, or literacy centres, it provides a structured and engaging way to support learners.
