
KS3 Viking History lesson designed for Year 7-9 students.
This lesson’s objective is for students to discover who the Vikings were, where in Britain they invaded; the significance of Danegeld and Danelaw as well as the effectiveness of King Cnut’s rule.
This lesson includes map work for Viking invasions, whiteboard tasks on the importance of Danelaw, a case study on King Cnut and a creative design task on Longboats! At the end of the lesson is an opportunity for students to write an autobiography as King Cnut and then with some knowledge check questions that could be done on whiteboards.
