First lesson of this module focusing on talking about children’s rights. All images from the text book are removed from the slides but I have signposted page numbers for ease. You will need access to the online listening files,

Previous topic taught: Module 3 - En forma

  1. Reading comprehension with unfinished sentences (daily routine / healthy lifestyle) pupils complete the sentences.
  2. Conjugation of PODER
  3. Zona cultura - video clip about UN convention on the rights of a child
  4. Match up - sentences and pictures
  5. ¿Qué es? Recall - oral / whiteboards / paired knockout
  6. Key vocab recall + challenge (conjugation of TENER)
  7. Translation: ¿Cuales son los derechos que tenemos en Inglaterra?
  8. Speaking activity: ¿Qué derecho es lo más importante para tí? ¿Por qué?
  9. Listening (activity 3 pg78) - challenge: translate the sentences into English
  10. Reading (activity 6 pg79) - challenge: make the false statements true
  11. Match up - protest slogans
  12. Create: Placard for a peaceful protest around children’s rights

A few other activities in the text book that could be used to pad out the lesson and get in some additional practice. This was aimed at a top set Y9 class so some more structure may need to be added for lower sets - writing frames, speaking grids, amended translations etc.
