This Excel file can be used for any level Mathematics class and will visually show the factor pairs of the number/s you input.

There are 3 sheets – the first will show factor pairs of a single number between 4 and 100 (just so it fits on the screen for the sheet), the second lists factor pairs of the 2 numbers that you enter (between 4 and 50 for same reasons as sheet 1) and then gives the Highest Common Factor of these 2 numbers and the final sheet is to test if a number between 4 and 100 is a Prime Number (it shows all the tests of factors from 2 upward to show if it makes a complete rectangle or not).
There are no formulas to accidentally delete as the spreadsheet has embedded Macros (VBA) for each of the buttons you press and can be used without access to the internet.

The spreadsheet can be used to create an image (snipping tool is most useful) to place in your PowerPoint or other presentation or you can simply project the spreadsheet in real time to answer student questions. You can change the font, colour or size of the text on the pages before creating the image for use on a data projector or interactive whiteboard or screen.

This spreadsheet can be used with any level of class that is learning about factors, factorization, the highest common factor or prime numbers. Being that the sheets show the visual pairs of factors as a rectangle (the area of which is the number being factorized) means that students can then make the easy connection that multiplication can be represented as the area of a rectangle or that so many groups of a number produces the number being tested.

This file will only run on devices that can allow Macro enabled spreadsheets to function (sadly that means that Ipads are not going to allow this sheet to work).
