A lesson taught to Y9 about the 2023 earthquake which struck Turkey and Syria. The lesson includes:
- Describing the location of Turkey.
- Describing the cause of the earthquake (plates and their direction of movement).
- Explaining how various factors can cause an earthquake to be deadly.
- Matching development indicators and their definitions.
- Using development indicators to explain why many people died from the earthquake.
- Explaining specific factors that made this earthquake deadly.
- Set of 6 questions.
- Answering the question: ‘Why was Turkey & Syria so badly affected by the 2023 earthquake?’ as an extended answer.
