This resources are linked to “Part 1 / Santa Teresa de Jesús” and “Part 2 / Miguel de Cervantes” and “Part 3/ Lope de Vega” but can also be used independently.
The power point could be used to support the worksheet in case the teacher wants to lead the session. However, if the teacher wants the students to complete this as part of independent work, the students will need access to a computer in order to complete the worksheets.
This is the last part to give the students a general idea of the Spanish Golden Age, therefore this powerpoint and worksheet explores the rivalry between Quevedo and Góngora, as well as the two different ways they had to conceive poetry. The video provided is full of slang an cultural references, so I would encourage the teacher to explain the contents of the video before playing it, unless the student is familiar with it. Finally, the students will be able to see a very satiric poem written by Quevedo.
These resources could be used to help further the knowledge of A-Level students.
