This resource is an eight page PDF document with reading comprehension activities to do based on the book The Sandcastle Contest by Robert Munsch and Michael Martchenko. This document contains six worksheets for students.

The activities allow the students to reflect on the story and extend their understanding of the themes within this text. There are comprehension questions, vocabulary activities (synonyms, compound words and building a sentence), a retelling drawing task and a writing activity.

There is a double-up of one worksheet because it is provided with a colour picture and also a version with a black and white picture for teachers who may not want to print in colour.
