The Merchant of Venice William Shakespeare lesson that explores the next scenes of the play (Act 2 Scene 1 and Scene 2) as we analyse character, structure, plot and theme, looking at how Portia and Morocco interact (as well as racist stereotypes in Elizabethan England), the comic figures of Launcelot and Old Gobbo, and how the use of malapropisms helps entertain an Elizabethan audience.

A very useful way to begin the play for both KS3 and KS4 students preparing GCSE English Literature. Fully differentiated throughout.
