Pupils read the model diary text written from the point of view of the man in the forest from the story. Pupils then examine the features of the diary by identifying the time adverbials, conjunctions and adjectives used in the text. Pupils could then go on to write their own diary entries from the point of view of the man or one of the animals from the story, such as a jaguar, sloth or boa constrictor.

This resource is ideal for Year 2 pupils studying the book.

The resources are available as PDFs and editable Word documents.
