Pupils’ love being creative with this hands-on project. Students are tasked with creating a centripetal mini ‘vortex’ using a waste plastic bottle, glitter/petals and washing-up liquid.
Students are introduced to sustainability, up-cycling, and centripetal force to design and make a children’s toy from waste. Students familiarise themselves with the keywords and the world’s largest plastic polluters before applying their understanding in the practical task, which can be done in a group or individually. The lesson has strong cross-curricular links, particularly with Science.
