This resource is a power point slide that serves as a full lesson for an introduction to Sonnet 18. Included in this power point is introductory activities which invite students are introduced to the topic of sonnets, then consider how they would approach the topic, then read Sonnet 18, then consider what it might be saying in modern English, before listening to it again, answering questions on it, and finally being given notes about it’s message and subversive take on the topic. This resource would serve as a strong introduction to Sonnet 18 that can be built upon in future lessons either diving deeper into the topic of the sonnet, other sonnets, or Shakespeare in general.
