This quiz resource is a fun and engaging way to encourage speaking, listening, and thinking skills in young children.
With 5 pages, each featuring a trivia quiz of 5 simple, accessible questions, children can share their ideas, listen to others, and build confidence in a supportive environment.
Questions range from everyday school knowledge (e.g., What do we sit on in class?, Where do we eat our lunch?, What do we use to write with in school?) to observation and reasoning tasks such as counting items in a picture (How many kings, teaspoons, or animals?) and categorising objects (What can we buy in these shops – cakes, clothes, or shoes?).
Each question has 3 symbols, children can choose which one fits the question. There may be more than one answer for some questions.
Perfect for whole-class or small-group use, this activity is a great way to start the year or welcome a new class, promoting conversation, cooperation, and curiosity while gently assessing prior knowledge.
