This resource consists of a set of 18 texts adapted from real newspaper articles with comprehension questions to complete and other activities to improve students reading skills and grammar. It is made up of 68 pages and it also includes the answers to the different tasks.

The topics covered in the text include:

1. The environment
2. Volunteering
3. Society
   • Immigration and poverty (4 texts)
     -Surrogacy
     -New types of families
     -Generational gap
   • “La niñofobia”
4. Education and language learning
5. Employability and gender gap
6. New technologies

Although many of the questions follow the Scottish Advanced Higher examinations (as they include similar questions), it can also be used with other curricula for the Spanish subject due to the variety of activities:
-Comprehension questions.
-Translation tasks.
-Summaries (in English or Spanish).
-Grammar exercises.
-Fill in the gaps.
-Finding synonyms or English equivalent terms.
-True or False activities.
-Questions to express personal opinions in Spanish.
