Give Year 12 Psychology students the opportunity to take part in an annual competition put on by the school called the PsychTrophy Champtionship. This is a research-based competition that is open to all Year 12 Psychology students with a prize at stake
The research they conduct will be presented to a panel of judges (can be your SLT at school).
In the past year, students have begun to learn about the myriad of questions that Psychologists aim to answer and understand. In their learning, they will have the opportunity to test some of the questions that they have about topics and issues related to the field of Psychology by conducting their own research. Previous topics of research were: What is the relationship between self-esteem and attachment style? And How has the pandemic changed the way young people talk about their mental health?
In addition to consolidating their curriculum skills, this is also a wonderful opportunity to encourage an enquiring mind and to help students in their personal development beyond your normal studies.
Powerpoint, letter to parents and risk assessment all included.
