This hand-drawn illustration of the Newfoundland Pine Marten is a great way to stir interest within children for endangered animals. Colouring in is a symbollic way to give endangered species significance. Children will naturally be curious to find out more, or this sheet could form part of a project to learn why this animal is declining?

The Newfoundland Pine Marten lives on the relatively small island of Newfoundland in Canada. Sadly, numbers of the species have been declining since 1934 for several reasons including disease, hunting and deforestation.

Colouring is a perfect means of relaxation, as well as a great tool for teaching colour and texture.
