The lesson examines the Nazi's use of propaganda and censorship to control people's attitudes and beliefs in Nazi Germany between 1933-1939. Students focus on the use of the radio, sport, newsreels, cinema, posters, newspapers, rallies, imagery and the Berlin Olympic Games.

- Slide 5: Starter - What methods of propaganda can you think of from your study so far?

- Slide 7-8: Task 1 - Students are given 8 images/methods of propaganda and have to think about what form of propaganda they are and what the purpose of them is. Printable table included.
- Slide 9-16: Task 1 images with hints and discussion questions
- Slide 17-18: Task 2 - A source based activity for students to pick 6 sources and infer from them what they can learn about propaganda and censorship in Nazi Germany. Printable source sheet included.
- Slide 19-20: Task 3 - Students are given a list of pieces of information and have to explain which of them are suitable forms of propaganda and which need to be censored.
