Everyone has subconscious biases, but we often don’t know why. The topic of this lesson focuses on this fantastic aspect of human psychology. Students will watch two short animated videos that discuss two types of biases: availability bias and the availability cascade.

Students will do exam styled listening practice for detail and understanding and practice using language to explain and summarise. They will also practice learning language from context and using narrative language to tell a personal story. During the discussion task, students will have the opportunity to review their own biases and share their opinions about the content of the video they have watched. This lesson plan is packed full of engaging tasks and activities to engage and encourage active speaking amongst your students.
