Irregular preterit practice: Clue words, Conjugation, and Sentences
Infinitives included: hacer, querer, venir, estar, andar, tener, saber, poner, poder, decir, traer, conducir, dar, ir, ser, ver (16 total)
Part 1: For each clue word, write the English translation. For each infinitive, write the correct preterit conjugation.
*32 clue words and 16 irregular preterit infinitives (each infinitive is used twice with different subjects)
*Note: A table with irregular preterit infinitives, their translations and irregular stems is provided for reference. (Ex: Hacer: to do, to make / Stem: hic, hiz).
*For Dar, Ir / Ser, Ver, a table is included with all 6 conjugations.

Part 2: Conjugation practice: Write the correct preterit conjugation for each infinitive.
*Students will complete a conjugation table with all 6 conjugations of the 16 irregular preterit verbs.
Part 3: Sentence practice: For each infinitive, write an original sentence by conjugating it in the preterit (past) tense and adding 4-5 words. Note: Do NOT use any clue words in your sentences (Ayer, La semana pasada etc). Your sentences should not be repetitive (using the same words over and over). Be sure that your sentences make sense.
*Students will write 12 sentences with hacer, querer, venir, estar, andar, tener, saber, poner, poder, decir, traer, conducir.
Answer key is included on pages 5-7 for parts 1 and 2 only. For part 3, student answers will vary.
