Imperfect tense practice: Conjugations and questions on childhood

Part 1: Write the correct imperfect tense conjugation for each infinitive.

*Students will conjugate 5 infinitives for all 6 persons.

*Infinitives included: jugar, leer, vivir, despertarse, vestirse

Note: A table with -ar, -er, -ir imperfect tense endings is included for reference.

Part 2: Clue words matching: Write the correct letter of the translation. (8 total)

Example:

h. Every day / e. Every weekend

_____ 1. Cada día

Part 3: Irregular infinitives: Write the correct letter of the conjugation for each subject.

*Ser, Ir, Ver (All 6 subjects included)

Part 4: Answer each question in a complete sentence using the imperfect tense. (10 total)

Note: The English translation of each question is included and a structured template is provided to write the answers. *All questions are in the tú conjugation.

Example:

  1. ¿Dónde jugabas tú cada día?

Translation: Where did you play (used to play) every day?

Template for answer: Subject + Conjugation of jugar + Rest

Answer key is included on pages 5-6 for parts 1, 2, and 3. For part 4, student answers will vary. This practice can be used for classwork, homework, quiz / test, review, entry / exit slip, or sub plans.
